About This Project

We were leaving on December 26 and that’s all there was to it.  Were we ready?  No.  Were we prepared?  No.  Did we leave anyway?  Yes we did, however we only drove about 10kms to a mate’s place and camped in their street.  That still counts right?

After visiting a weighbridge the next day and finding out we were nearly 700kg over our allotted payload (no that’s not a typo, it does read 700kgs) we hung around Brisbane at various friend’s places for a few more days while we lost a little weight.

After 4 weighbridge failures we decided to take it back to basics by stripping everything out of the van on the roadside.  It was my birthday and not the most fun I’ve ever had, but I won’t forget it in a hurry and we’re on the road, so even when it’s not so good, it’s good.
